After twenty-one days, unclaimed suitcases are considered lost, which enable Airlines to sell those luggages through specialist auction houses. It is all about bidding and buying someone’s else suitcases without knowing its content. This catalogue showcases the objects find in a ‘leftover suitcase’. By interrogating the objects themselves, this project considers how people consume objects as a tool to construct aspect of one’s identity. Material culture studies suggest that the material world is central to the constitution of identity as a metaphor of the self. What can you learn about someone through left behind belongings?
